The ILXCTF.com Girls Relay rankings title stays in the Peoria area for a second straight year. Dunlap repeated as the overall champion scoring 175 points. It was two points less than their winning total of 177 points from a year ago. The two-time 2A IHSA State Champion rolled over their competition at this year’s state meet winning three of the four relays contested. In this year’s leaderboard, their 400, 800, and 1600 relays were all among the top ten. It was close for places second through fourth as only six points separated those three teams. Homewood-Flossmoor scored 145 points to finish second followed by Lyons Township (143 points) and Naperville North (139 points). Whitney Young became the first Chicago Public School to finish in the top five as the Lady Dolphins scored 131 points to finish fifth. The Southwest Conference and the West Suburban Conference-Silver Division had the most teams in the top 20 with three teams each. Along with Dunlap, three other 2A schools placed in the top 20 with East St. Louis-Senior, Carbondale, and Rich East those teams. The ILXCTF.com (formally the DyeStat Illinois) Relay Rankings are based off the DyeStat TFX Leaderboards on Athletic.net (as of June 1, 2018) for the four relays that are contested at the IHSA State Track & Field Meet. In the All Class, 3A, 2A, and 1A categories, the top 50 quartets are ranked with 50 points given to the fastest school down to 1 point for the 50th fastest. 2018 Girls Overall

2018 3A Girls The order dramatically changed after the 1A/2A schools were removed. Lyons Township, who finished seventh in 2017 and third in this year’s overall rankings, took the top spot in 3A with 157 points. It was the exact same point total that 3A winner from last year Downers Grove North scored. Homewood-Flossmoor scored 147 points to finish second. Belleville East, who tied for sixth in the overall rankings, finished third with 145 points. 2018 2A Girls It was Dunlap that was on top winning their fourth 2A title in a row. The Eagles scored a near perfect 199 out of a total of 200 points equally their 2017-point total. East St. Louis-Senior was moved down from 3A to 2A for the 2018 season. The Flyerettes second-place score of 181 points was the highest non-winning point total in 2A for the six years that these rankings have been contested. Carbondale and Urbana both scored 167 points as the two schools tied for third. Carbondale did not even finish in the top ten last year. 2018 1A Girls St. Joseph-Ogden were the queen of the 1A relays for the third-year in a row. The Lady Spartans scored a record 197 points breaking their 2017 record of 191 points. All their relays were ranked in the top three with their 400 and 800 relays on top of the leaderboards. There were new faces that finished in the top five teams. Farmington scored 160 points to finish second. Pleasant Plains, who finished fourth a year ago, moved up a place scoring 133.5 points to finish third.
